Sawmill on the Wm. Heavenhill Estate (Thomas Bushrod Graves)

 Old Records show that  that when Thomas Bushrod Graves bought the Heavenhill Estate it had a working sawmill, along with brothers Wm. Fisher Graves and Edward Willis Graves they also owned a steam powered sawmill near Bloomfield Ky. known as the "Graves Bro's Mill". Thomas raised corn, livestock and hemp on the 244 acres. They sent hemp and lumber from  Bardstown Ky via train to the warehouse of Graves and Mc Cleland in downtown Lexington, they recieved coal sent back in return.
